It’s hard to believe that only a week ago FMS and Accolade employees all over were scurrying around, trying to prepare for the hurricane. There was a large response to the needs within our company, and Twenty-Six: Twelve received numerous, generous offers to help in any way they could. So many offered their homes to those in need of refuge. We were blessed to know that in a time of need, people were ready to spring into action. With the aftermath of all that took place on the coast, employees are continuing to open their hearts and give their time. Matt Lang will travel to Houston this weekend to take supplies to those who are still without power. In Yoakum, Shirley Sommer reported this news:

“The Yoakum area dodged a bullet, however, we have a lot of evacuees in our nursing and assisted living facilities. Accolade Staff under the coordination of our marketer, Melissa Hernanadez, and RN’s have done a great job of getting snacks to workers at these facilities, care gift packs with soap, deodorant and shampoo to evacuees/workers and any other necessities. Melissa even got the TV station to the facility for some publicity as well as getting others to help set up beds!!!! Some of these people worked at the sister facility in the Galveston area and now have no home to go to. Melissa even helped get dialysis set up for an evacuee. She did a great job because she is such a caring person!!!”

It is in a time of crisis that our hearts swell as we realize that people all around us are so very generous and loving. We will continue to pray for those who are suffering, and continue to be thankful for generous spirits and the safety of loved ones.
